What is a packhunt?

Loved the easter egg hunt as a kid but never played a Packhunt?! You're missing out!


A Packhunt is a totally immersive, self-guided outdoor challenge that incorporating the best elements of traditional scavenger hunts, escape rooms and augmented reality (AR) - all playing in iconic Australian locations including Sydney's beautiful Manly Beach, and the bustling Perth CBD. Packhunts will have you roaming the streets of these locations, visiting iconic sites and attractions, all while trying to find, decipher and solve a combination of physical and AR puzzles.


To play a Packhunt, you'll need to install on your iPhone or android device the app we email you after your booking is confirmed, then meet us at your designated collection point on the day of your booking to pick up your Packhunt Pack - a backpack full of the clues and puzzles you'll need on your adventure.


From there, follow the narrative of your chosen Packhunt as it guides you along a journey of discovery to various locations around Manly, Sydney or the Perth CBD, solving puzzles whilst unlocking and revealing more clues hidden along the route. Upon completing your Packhunt adventure, our team will meet you back at your collection point for a thorough debrief.

Packhunts attract all age groups, from all walks of life. They generally attract adventurers who want to experience interaction and immersion in a narrative full of excitement and challenges. Pitting your wits and winning against a secret mission or end goal is a big adrenalin rush that you'll want to repeat time and again.

  • 🎫 HOW DO I BOOK A PACKHUNT?

    The quickest and easiest way to book is online right here as availability is live and up to the minute. But, if you have a question that you can’t find the answer to on our website, then drop us an email or give us a call on 08 6118 0286 because we want your booking experience to be smooth and frustration-free. 


    Please note that you are booking a live event. Therefore, we are unable to offer refunds. Booking rescheduling is possible, but please see our full terms and conditions for details.

  • 🗺️ WHERE WILL I COLLECT MY PACKHUNT FROM?

    Your booking confirmation will provide full details on your designated collection and start points, but if you're playing in Manly, you'll begin your hunt from Escape This Sydney, Manly Beach, and in Perth, at Escape This Northbridge. Who knows, you may even want to extend the fun of your Packhunt experience by booking a totally immersive escape room before or after?!

  • 📱 Is there an app I need to install to play a Packhunt?

    Yes! You'll need our Packhunt app in order to play your Packhunt; it contains the augmented reality component of your Packhunt challenge. You'll have received a link to the app download page in your booking confirmation email, but if you didn't, we can help you download the app on the day at your designated collection point.

  • 🚸 WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AGE TO PLAY A PACKHUNT?

    We recommend a minimum age of 9 years to enjoy maximum engagement with the puzzles and challenges your Packhunt will pose.

  • ⌛ HOW LONG DOES A PACKHUNT EXPERIENCE LAST?

    The whole experience will last approximately 2 hours (including a briefing and debrief), depending on how fast you can solves the puzzles in your chose Packhunt. There will be a short briefing followed by a 90-minute game. After the experience, there will be a team photo, and a debrief.

  • ⌚ WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE FOR MY PACKHUNT BOOKING?

    Please arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before your scheduled experience as departing gamers may let information slip and spoil your game. If you find yourself running late, please call and let us know. Late arrival might reduce the amount of playing time available if the following session time has been booked by other teams.

  • 👟 WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO AN PACKHUNT?

    There is no dress code – you can arrive straight from the office, worksite, gym or home. Dress as you please. Fancy dress is also an option and may add to your experience. We do though recommend comfortable foortwear, and sunscreen/umbrellas depending on the weather conditions at time of play.
